Air One Personal eVTOL Completes First Flight to Cruise Test

According to a December 20th press release from Air, the first start-up building of the Air One personal eVTOL aircraft, the flight flawlessly transitioned from hover to wing-borne cruise flight fully loaded with 1100kg (2425lbs).

Initially, the company says that aircraft carry two people, i.e., the operator and the passenger. The Air One personal eVTOL aircraft range of 110 miles (177 kilometers) and a maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) and the cruise speed is 160 mph (161 km/h).

It can fly 100 miles in a single flight for up to 60 minutes on a single charge and is fully loaded at its maximum takeoff weight of 2,425 pounds (1,100 kg).  It’ll easily fit in a regular garage, standing just 7.54ft (2.3 m) high and occupying a 7.54 x 19.52 -ft (2.3 x 5.86 m)

The Switchblade Flying Car by Samson Sky is also on the market and targeting the individual consumer, while the Air One Aircraft has an interest in commercial uses, such as air taxi rides and cargo shipments.

As per the company report, the transition flight took place on Sunday, December 18 at approximately 3 p.m. local time. The Air One personal eVTOL aircraft is very expensive, with an estimated starting price of US$150,000 and a launch date of 2024.
