The mu-design team from Luxembourg has developed a smart planter Lua that turns your plants into pets yes that’s right  The ‘Lua’ planter is equipped with a variety of sensors that allow it to trigger up to 15 different animated emotions.

Lua Happy face

These sensors precisely measure soil moisture, light exposure, and temperature. A face on the front of the pot gives you visual cues about how well you’re treating your pet plant, taking the care of greenery to a new level.

The emotions are displayed on the front of the smart planter via a 2.4-inch LCD IPS screen. if the plant is thirsty It will show a panting face on the screen indicating it is time to water it. it’s time to water the plant. a chattering teeth face if it is too cold, a sweating face, if it is too hot, and a Sick face, indicates too much water.

Lua emotions

Lua has a series of other animations a squinting face indicates too much sun exposure, while a sick look indicates too much water. There’s also a vampire face if the plant needs some sunlight, and a happy expression if conditions are ideal.

Lua

These animations change based on data provided by sensors that are placed in the device. Lua even has a motion sensor that allows it to track movement with its eyes as you walk by the plant. it will go back to sleep if nothing happens.

How does it work?

First, get a plant: LUA comes with a database of over 4,000 species of plants, Once you’ve chosen your plant, you’ll need to download LUA’s app, pick the sort of plant you own, and then a QR Code will be generated. Scan this QR Code in front of LUA, and it will automatically adjust the settings!

Lua App

The plant container has a diameter of 5.9 inches and a height of 6.3 inches. It weighs 500 grams It is powered by USB.
Lua has four sensors to aid you in monitoring the health of your plant: a motion sensor, a water level sensor, a light sensor,  and a temperature sensor.
