PaintCam Eve: AI Security Camera That Can Fire Paintballs at Intruders
OZ-IT, a startup from Slovenia, has developed a new home security system called PaintCam Eve. It is not a regular security camera. It uses artificial intelligence to detect intruders and respond in real time with active deterrent features, including paintball firing.
The system combines facial recognition, motion tracking, and smart alerts to identify people near your property. It is designed to tell the difference between familiar faces and unknown visitors so it can react differently depending on who is detected.
How PaintCam Eve Works?
PaintCam Eve watches the area where it is set up all the time. When someone comes into view it checks their movement and looks at their face to figure out who they are.
If it recognizes the person it keeps monitoring quietly. If it does not recognize them it sends an alert to the homeowner and plays a voice warning telling them to leave.
If the person stays after the warning the system gives them about five seconds to leave. If they still do not go it can fire paintballs as a non lethal way to scare them off and stop things from getting worse.
If pelting an intruder with paintballs isn’t intense enough, Eve can escalate by launching tear gas projectiles. It’s like having a team of riot police ready to act right at your doorstep.

If a stranger and a known visitor show up together the system alerts the homeowner so they can decide what to do. It can feel a bit stressful in real life situations like meeting someone important while the system is still reacting.
Homeowners can also check live video from anywhere using their phone. Even if the internet stops working the device can still run on its own.
You can choose which areas to protect like your front door or places where you keep valuables so it only reacts where you want it to.
Overall the idea is simple. It watches your space warns intruders and can escalate step by step if they do not leave giving the homeowner full control over how far it goes.
Models Available
PaintCam Eve comes in three versions. Eve, Eve+, and Eve Pro. Each model offers different levels of features and security control.
The basic version focuses on standard monitoring and alerts. The higher models include more advanced detection, better tracking accuracy, and expanded response options.

Smart Control and Mobile Access
The system connects to a mobile app that allows homeowners to watch live footage from anywhere.
Even if the internet goes down, the device can continue working locally.
Users can also set custom zones around their property. For example, they can choose to protect only the front door, driveway, or specific areas of interest.
The facial recognition system also helps owners get alerts when unknown and known people appear together, allowing them to decide how to respond.

Is Paintcam Eve Safe to Use?
Like any new technology PaintCam Eve comes with concerns. People worry it could misread a face or react at the wrong moment like accidentally targeting a neighbor child or a delivery person.
There are also concerns about stronger deterrents in some versions especially chemical based ones which raise questions about safety and legal use in different countries.
Experts say false identification is a real risk. In some situations the system could mistake a harmless visitor for an intruder and react in the wrong way.
The company says the goal is to rethink home security in a smarter way and protect what matters without relying only on heavy or intimidating systems.
Because of its features and risks PaintCam Eve is seen as both innovative and controversial.

Company Vision
According to OZ-IT the goal of PaintCam Eve is to change home security by making it more active and smart. Instead of only recording events after they happen it is built to react right away and help stop intrusions before they happen.
The company also focuses on customization so users can adjust how the system works based on their own security needs.
