Onomotion e-cargo delivery bikeBeres Seelbach, CEO at Onomotion claimed that e-cargo bikes are environmentally beneficial choices for moving cargo and that doing so will improve urban livability.

The e-cargo Bikes may take the place of sprinters, cargo vans, and transporters, setting the bar for emission-free cargo transportation inside major cities.

The E-Cargo Bikes meet the demands of fleet managers and drivers alike, offering much more room and weather protection than traditional cargo bikes.

Onomotion a Berlin-based startup has launched ONO a hybrid of an electric bike and a car, to help transform delivery services in inner cities.

The ONO e-cargo bike has the ability of a bicycle and the capacity of a delivery truck providing transportation of goods from food to furniture.

ONO can be driven on cycling lanes and is legal to operate without a driver’s license due to its tiny exterior dimensions.

It has a delta tricycle layout with one wheel in front and two in the rear and is 340 cm long, 116 cm wide, and 205 cm high. The driver or rider sits within a completely waterproof windshield cab equipped with a wiper, steering with handlebars, and pedaling for propulsion.

The container module has a space capacity of 2 cubic meters and can carry up to 200 kg the containers may be switched freely and safely via the integrated ramp.

Two 125-watt rear electric motors driven by a swappable GreenPack 1.4 kWh battery allow the vehicle to increase the pedaling power to reach a speed of up to 16 mph.

The battery has a range of up to 30 km (19 miles) on a single charge, and without having to stop at a battery exchange station, an additional battery holder is optionally available. The battery can be replaced at one of the many battery replacement stations of Swobbee.

The ONO vehicle is weather-protected and the driver cabin’s unique design provides reliable protection against rain and wind. The ONO Bike is very quick and simple to operate via an RFID chip.

Through the RFID card, the vehicle locks and unlocks the container’s doors, and disconnects the container from the ONO vehicle.

The ONO comes with full servicing with pricing, starting at €490 about US$534 per month. Onomotion is presently marketing the ONO in several European countries.
